Camping Desoto State Park

Camping desoto state park is the best way to enjoy a relaxing and fun family trip in the beautiful outdoors. It offers RV camping with 94 Full Hook-up sites, Primitive Camping Sites and cabins. Its scenic location and numerous natural enhancements that were made by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) create a unique atmosphere. The park is surrounded by rushing waterfalls and fragrant wildflowers that will simply take your breath away.

There are plenty of activities to do here including hiking, swimming, fishing, kayaking and biking. There are also a number of trails to explore and a great nature center where you can learn about the history of the area and the park. There are also several picnic sites and a playground for the kids.

The park is open year round and there are many different campgrounds to choose from depending on your budget and preferences. The improved campsites are great for those who like the comforts of home while the primitive loop is a more rugged experience.

The best time to go is during spring when the weather is warm and dry, but it can be crowded. Fall is another good time to visit as the foliage is beautiful, but it can be quite chilly at night. Winter is one of the least popular times to visit, so you will likely have the campground to yourself. The only drawback is that fishing may not be as good during the winter months.
