Best Beaches in Northwest Florida State Parks

If you love to camp and travel, it’s worthwhile to consider a trip to Northwest Florida. The beautiful beaches along the Gulf Coast offer days of sunshine and fun. Two of the hottest beach destinations are St. Pete Beach in Volusia County and North Palm Beach in Seminole. Many camping facilities also dot the landscape of the state. Here are some tips for the best beaches in the state park:

* Gulf Coast Beaches – If you prefer beaches to sand, the Gulf Coast State Park in Sarasota offers miles of beautiful beaches. The peninsula is home to the well-known Walt Disney World Resort and a string of marinas. Other popular destinations include Clearwater Beach, South Beach, Hollywood Beach and the Nokomis Beach Park. All of the beaches are dog-friendly, offer fishing, swimming and excellent restaurants and nightlife.

* Interstates I-40 and I-4 – Located between Tampa and Orlando, the interstates I-4 and I-40 connect the two cities with long drive-ways. There are some excellent driving directions available online. Just east of the I-4, the state park of Indian Springs is less than a half-hour drive to the Atlantic Ocean and is one of the best beaches in the county. Other nearby attractions include the Indian River State Park and Everglades National Park.
