After a day of hiking or hanging out at the lake, a camp chair can be the perfect spot for relaxing and recouping your energy. But it’s important to choose the best camping chair for your needs, whether you want to cozy up in a reclining model or prefer a more minimalist design that won’t weigh down your backpack.
Fortunately, the industry’s most advanced designers are making camp chairs that come in an array of sizes and prices to meet every camping lifestyle. From thronelike car-camping chairs packed with user-friendly features to compact models that could be carried on a short backpacking trip, the best camping chair 2022 has you covered.
Some of the most versatile camping chairs are also the cheapest. That’s because they don’t have extra bells and whistles that can add to the price tag, such as a footrest or reclining functionality. But they still provide ample support and comfort for the money, as our expert testers found when they tried them out.
Looking for a simple, budget-friendly seat? Our Folding Carbon Steel Camp Chair (adult & kids sizes) comes in adult and kids sizes. If you need extra support, try the 260 lb Folding Aluminum Camping Chair or the 500 lb Heavy-Duty Folding Chair with Cooler Bag.
The most durable camping chairs are made from weather-resistant materials, like polyester and nylon, that resist fading and snags. They’re also usually coated in water-resistant polyurethane, which makes them a good choice for rainy campsites and humid areas. And some camping chairs include a dedicated carry bag or storage sack for easy transport and organization.
