Hot Tent Winter Camping – Rookie Fail

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy life to read this.
In this video, my friends and I head out looking for a remote lake deep in the woods. Due to road conditions we end turning around for safety and end up camping at a nearby provincial park instead.
Hot tent winter camping is not for everyone. It is cold and challenging to say the least. We arrived at our camp after sunset. Unable to scout for a better location, we set up in a bad (flat) location. Hot tenting requires some knowledge. Snow camping needs to be well though out before staking out the pegs.
The time constraint pushed us to set up quickly in the dark. With the falling temperatures we were glad enough to have shelter.
Our setup was a complete fail. We were surrounded by water by the morning and having to sleep in an outdoor hammock.
Still, it was a fun trip.
